About Isuzu

Isuzu Motors India Pvt. Ltd is a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Ltd, Japan. Isuzu entered India in the year 2012. The manufacturer has had 100 successful years based on the tradition of needs-based approach. Isuzu was established in the year 1916. In 1934, the company was renamed Isuzu after the Isuzu River. A decade ago, Isuzu had produced over 21 million diesel engines which can be found in vehicles worldwide. Most of the top companies such as Ford Motor Company, Renault, Mitsubishi & Nissan Alliance use Isuzu diesel engines.

The Japanese brand is quite popular in Asia and Africa and is widely known for trucks of all sizes. Their four wheeler journey started good, but as time progressed, the models hit the roadblock. Isuzu sedans and compact cars are some of the oldest cars to come with diesel engine vehicles. In 1983, 63% of the diesel engine cars which were introduced by the Japanese manufacturer consisted of diesel. Finally, a new route appears to be good for the Isuzu models which are apparently performing decently in the Indian market.

The company manufactures as per the needs when it comes to product development and excellence. Before stepping into the four-wheeler market, it conducted a nationwide study of Indian customers to develop world-class pick-up trucks and utility vehicles. Ever since the start in 2012, the brand has expanded its base in the country. The flagship SUV – MU-X was launched in May 2017. It replaced the current luxury SUV – MU7. MU-X is a bigger version, and it competes in full-size SUV segment.

Currently, two Isuzu models are being offered in the market – Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and Isuzu MU-X. The D-Max V-Cross is priced at INR 13.15 Lakh for the lowest variant while the Isuzu MU-X is priced at INR 22.88 Lakh for the lowest variant.

Isuzu Motors India has declared an increase in prices of their pick-ups and SUV from 01 January 2018. The hike in prices is anticipated to be around three to four percent across the model range. The upsurge in prices ranges between INR 15,000 to INR 1 lakh on the vehicles’ ex-showroom price tag. The Japanese carmaker has not given any precise reason for the increase in prices.

As for competition, the Isuzu MU-X competes with some of the top SUVs in the country such as Hyundai Santa Fe, SsangYong Rexton, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ford Endeavour to name a few.

If you wish to buy Isuzu car models for a low price, you can buy a used car. There are various online portals which provide a wide range of options along with best price options. Depending upon the condition of the model and its variant, you can choose accordingly.
